Carolina Ford Focus at Concord all Summer?

I see on the USAC site that the Carolina FFM are scheduled every Thursday night in June, July and August at Concord Motorsports Park.

There's nothing on the the CMP 2008 schedules, but I would assume this would be at the quarter mile track and would probably run with the Summer Series Legends.

If so, that would be sweet. It would give them a home track to grow from and maybe, maybe they could grow their numbers.

Mad Alky - we will be running that series as much as possible....as I understand at this point they will have about 7 dates that will be on the weekends at various other larger tracks......the others mid-week. Dont write it in stone or hold me to that...thats just what I have heard through the grapevine.....they are still working on it from what I understand... I think their intent is exactly what you said...the midweek shows will be difficult for out-of towners....but if it helps them in any way...all the better..

Thanks RT, which team are you with?

I remember a few years ago that the Pistone's tried to get the old Metrolina Fairgrounds track up and running (shortened considerably from the old 1/2 mile) and the FFM was going to be one of the classes that was planned to run mid-week.

Apparently, there has always been interest in the FFM with some of the NASCAR teams/crews that are all located in that general area. Either for themselves or their kids.

Fans at the area tracks have enjoyed the FFM shows, but after a few years, fans (and promoters) want to see more than ten cars.

As a fan, I'm usually on the road on the weekends going out of state to chase 410 action. But, I'll be more than happy to run down the road to Concord during the week if they are running midgets.

I wish they would have them at my local track, Ace Speedway, which runs on Friday nights. I think it would be a great place for them and the track owner/promoter is not against open wheel shows (even though he understands his main fans demand late models).
