Dateline: Terre Haute
News Bulletin;
THIS JUST IN! After being forewarned of this danger, thousands still ignored the warning and were held hostage again here last night. After being held for almost 8 hours, 29 sprint teams, Usac & their race fans were forced to watch a track prep that should have been completed when the hostage ticket selling began. All were finally released just b4 curfew. On a more positive note all vendors & concessions reported record sales. That is all. |
Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
So what is your point?

Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
Too Funny....The race teams were given a $50 gas card to defray the costs of using a 50K+ Sptinter to bring in the track surface and the fans recieved a box of chocolates and 17 slide jobs. Don.t confuse finding some humor with complaining.

Standing in turn one of the infield and watching the 1st cars hot lapping even though a little late it was all worth it! I didnt feel like i got taken hostage. Some things in life are just worth the wait!:8:

Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
A buddy of mine said the feature really did turn out to be an unbelievable show with Coons and Jones battling it out; plus DD's run from 19th to 3rd.
Just say No! - to all the freakin' negativity |
Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
Or we could have no races at THAT. How's that sound to you? IIRC, nobody would step up to the plate and promote at THAT. Mike King and Davey Hamilton and company took a chance with this deal, investing time, money and effort to try to make it work. There was a danger of it going away forever, right?
After all the griping about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw in the towel and let the place rot. Who could blame them? If you don't like what they are doing there, don't go. Better still, why don't one of you armchair quarterbacks take over as promoter and we will applaud you when you do the job to perfection. |
Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
if they cant do any better than what they have done they should throw in the towel.......they have not invested enough time in their endeavor thats for sure... if your gonna run a business do it properly...

Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
i would have to say it's better to be dead and have fond memories, many of which i have from there than to suffer in agony and pain

Re: Dateline: Terre Haute
I miss Jaimie Reed. Seemed like the track was ready when it was supposed to be while he was there and the racing was good. All you sprint car guys had complain about was the running of us modifieds guys:6:.
