How many focus cars are even out there? I shook my head when I saw this race on their schedule because I knew they had less than 10 cars at every race they had at Gas City last season. I'm going to Montpelier anyway because its my home track, but I don't expect to see more than 5 focus midgets. No offense to any of the focus drivers or teams, but there just isn't any benefit to scheduling this series when they have such a small group of cars.

I would assume this is to build a relationship with USAC so as the track improves that maybe able to land a track lucrative USAC sprint or midget date. I guess they take the car count hit now to hopefully gain in the future?

Anybody know that the Late Model series is that is coming later in the season?

It is the Indiana Crate Series, which is run by (and won last year by) Mike Bechelli. They are much like the focus series, lucky to get more than 5 to 10 cars. That was another race I couldn't understand having on the schedule. It pays $1000 to win and I'm thinking $150 to start. Why wouldn't they use the same purse and try running super late models instead of crates? There are no crate cars in this area and the guys south of I-70 won't come up here. They would get more supers with the exact same purse than they will crates.

Eric, good luck on Friday and Saturday at Gas City and Montpelier.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I believe with the guaranteed money and a 3 day weekend (Gas City, Mont., & Danville); there will be 20 crates at each track. Also, there are no crate races down here that weekend.
