I got a used tail tank need sugestions on how to fix

I got a used tail tank shell that had a few dents in it. Also, near one of the mounting points it had been punctured pretty good. I am going to run a bladder so I am not worried about fuel leaking out. How do I repair the tank. I know it is easier to just to buy a new tank shell but I got a good deal on this one.

I am looking for more cosmetic than anything. On the dents buddy of mine said we could just use some bondo to fix those.

Plastic, or fiberglass? You can buy a "plastic welder" on Ebay for about $30.00, and do it yourself, if it's fiberglass, still do it yourself, need to identify the base material, and go from there, if it's wood, oak or pine? Bob

I followed the advice given in the post. The tail tank had all the damage you described. You can see it in my 2009 photo album. https://www.indianaopenwheel.com/album.php?albumid=154 It turned out great and needs no additional repairs for this season. The 2k urethane primer / surfacer swallowed up the "fuzzies". Do not neglect to start with the Bulldog adhesion promoter.
