Re: Chili bowl rules
I know for years Danny Lasoski used to bring some pretty trick stuff. I think someone wised up and got rid of the trick chassis stuff. The left front tire on the other hand.........

Re: Chili bowl rules
Kerry,
Good question! I have no idea what the rules are, but I think they are pretty lax! Here is another good question, How much does it pay to win? A friend and I were talking about this just there other day, I have never heard one time what it pays. I just know everybody wants that Golden Driller! :thumb:checkered::thumb |
Re: Chili bowl rules
Cory Krusman wanted to run a ski on the left front at one time!:rolling

Re: Chili bowl rules
Hey chris, hows it going? I have been reasearching this topic a little. I might want to build something for next year. I called the event info line and they seemed speechless for a minute when I asked them the rules. Said they were not to picky.

That was a direct result of the Lasoski Eagle midget with the radical airfoils 6 or 6 years ago. The ski was mantioned above too, Tommie actually flew out to Bondio's shop to inspect it before declaring it illegal. If I remember correct, the decision was more about safety than an unfair advantage. I also heard that Davey Ray was told that he could not run a sprint car LR on his RR this year....... Personally, I'm waiting to see a supercharged midget. THAT....would be too cool!!! Also, as an aircraft mechanic.....I would like to see someone build a midget with an Allison 250 turboshaft engine....between 320 and 650 horsepower (depending on the model).....about the same on torque....52,000rpm.....All in a 275 pound package!!! |
Re: Chili bowl rules
52,000 rpm, who has the rear end gears for that? That'd be wild. Maybe we will see Davey Ray in that New Zealand V8 midget he just won in next year in Tulsa.
I am also told the preliminary nights pay zero. |
Re: Chili bowl rules
Kerry,
Doin' fine! Keep me posted if you do build something, I am one hell-of-a gopher! And besides, the last time I was in Tulsa, Emmett Hahn bought me a $100.00 worth of beer, true story I have witnesses! :thumb |
