Hilborn help...

Putting a Hilborn 2 7/16 on my 383 SBC in my front engine dragster. Got the intake on and im waiting on some parts to finish it and now I need some help. Ill post the engine info below,If I leave anything out im sorry.

Any science on stack length? I bought new ones and they are roughly 13" tall.

For drag racing..some use a high speed and some dont. I launch the engine from 3600-4200 depending on the weather and shift it at 6500. Most people ive spoke with say no high speed till i get it lined out then add it on. Thoughts??

No idea on what to start out with for pill sizes in the main...I will/can buy a assortment but need to know where to start.

HELP!!!!!

383 SBC

12.7:1 compression
MSD ingition
Hilborn 2 7/16
Nozzles are a 14AS..they are roughly 5 inches long

I'd call Hilborn, they were always generous to me when I had a problem,,,,? running alky or gas..whats the fuel flow rate of your pump?alky as just a guess0.65 main pill-hi speed 0.70 set to open at 58lbs...but thats based on 1.58 gpm pump -bigger pump-would mean bigger return pills....start the barrel valve setting at 25%....longer stacks more torque

I would call Hilborn. The guy I used to talk to was Gene Adams......... He used to run an injected rail on the strips..... was a really informative person. John S.

I would not hesitate for a second to call Gene Adams. He knows injected alcohol drag racing as good if not better than anyone out there. He has been there and tried about everything over the years. Very smart man.
