History of Des Moines, Iowa, board track

This is a great link to long lost history of the board tracks. Most of us think about the ones at Altoona, Pa., and such. This was in Des Moines and became a victim of World War I, among other things.
Larry Ball Jr., the author, raced sprint cars at Knoxville and other tracks in the 1980s and 1990s.
