"National Midget Driver Of The Year" ??????

So I have a quick question. What do you know about "National Midget Driver Of The Year" title? Does that pay anything or is that just for bragging rights? Do the national guys even give a crap about this? What's the story?

Yes to all of those questions. I think the best person to get in touch with is Brian Gapinski( sorry if spelled wrong) or go to midgetmaddness.com arrow down on the right side and click to the website itself.everything is explained in detail there. Drivers get points for every race, the bigger the race the more pts a driver gets & the more cars at the race the drivers get more pts for doing good. I know serveral national drivers take pride in trying to win this title:6:

Yes to all the above! The point fund the past two years exceeded $10,000 cash plus contingency awards to the top ten drivers and car owner, with the past two NMDOTY driver champions recieving a $2,000 first place check. In addition money was distrubuted at several NMDOTY Race Nights at various tracks with different sanctioning organizations. This year, there is a reduction in point fund due to sponsors.
The Canyon events will be the 197th & 198th events of the season and determine the champions in the driver, car owner and rookie. Manufacturers championship have been clinched by Ford-Esslinger & Spike. The Canyon event will draw a great field of cars, and this event could build into a major event in the next few years. Further information can be found at: www.nmdoty.com & www.canyonspeedwaypark.com.
