Heard some talk about a non-wing race in florida this february? Also curious if there is races to hit on the way to or from california in november? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Western World in Tucson: practice November 18, races 19-21. Winged 360s & non-wing (360s I think). The purse for the two features is supposed to be over $100,000 total. I am betting there will be some great racing. Haven't heard anything concrete about non-wing in Florida. I will post more when I hear a anything.

And if you are still looking for some racing action, get on a plane and head down under to Parramatta City Raceway in Australia. Check out their website, because they have a heap of racing around Xmas, as do all the Aussie tracks at that time of year. Cheers Steve.:6:

I use this site:

http://www.speedwaysonline.com/sched...rack_Schedules

It list quite a few different types of racing, but if you are just looking for a date or location it's great. Winter doesn't have too many options.

Good schedule, James. And while they aren't sprint cars, the USMTS modifieds are putting on two three day shows in the Houston area in the coming months. The December dates at HRP are on the speedwaysonline schedule, but they are also at Battleground Speedway November 19-21 (reschedule of a rain date from a couple of weeks ago). At last year's December HRP shows, there were 95-105 mods each night and 60 to 70 limited mods. A very well run show, too.

Carey,

The guys who does this site is Allan Brown, who makes the National Speedway Directory. I believe he makes it at the beginning of the year, so rainouts and cancellations are always a possibility. Overall its a great place to find a race without scouring the web for too long.

Thanks. I will have to remember that one. In my planning I tend to use Chasinracin and then check each track's schedule, or the individual series' schedules for different events. That can certainly get a little time consuming.

For a bit of useless trivia, I have my name in the second edition of Allan's book, published in 1977. For those that have that one, I am listed as the announcer at Hangtown Speedway (albeit mispelled, darn that Angie Kovachs). Hard to believe that 32 years have passed since then.

Re: Winter races.. Know of any?

Cowtown November Sprint Shootout at Cowtown Speedway (in Kennedale, just outside of Ft. Worth) on November 13 and 14. In addition they will be having a free, yes free race on November 12th for topless modifieds, topless limited modifieds and 600 mini sprints. They should have over 40 cars in all three of those classes. This is basically a rain date for the features in those classes that were rained out last weekend. But you don't need a ticket stub to get in free. It's free to everyone that shows up whether they were there this weekend or not.

The sprint shootout is a non sanctioned event, but since almost nobody is running that weekend they could have as many or more than they had last weekend when 71 sprints showed up.

I intended to mention this earlier when I read this, but I forgot. I missed seeing the USMTS when they were scheduled here due to rain, but I heard they put on an awesome show.
