Re: To Dwight or ????
There is a guy, up in the northeast, named Fiore, who claims to have one of the old Smith "oilers", a spring front Stapp.

The Fiore Family had a long history with the United Racing Club and today Joe is kept busy with his restoration business. One of the cars that I KNOW that he does own is the Agajanian Dirt Car |

Probably the last spring front dirt champ car ever built. Built by Luigi Lesovsky. I'm just finishing a new Agajanian Watson roadster for a customer: http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/Albu...&a=32355963&f= Agajanian http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/Albu...&a=31517032&f= Fike |
Re: To Dwight or ????
I'm not sure how many cars the Smith's had over the years, but I'm sure that there were more the four mentioned in the one reply.
When I was at Winchester in 98 or 99 for the oldtimers, there was some sporty-car lookin kid with a car that was supposedly a Smith car. The overall restoration wasn't bad but the color was far from correct. FWIW, I think the last spring front champ dirt cars were probably built by Steve Stapp in the mid-seventies. The car Opp was hurt in was one of those cars. Allan Wilkinson |
