How much would you pay to subscribe to a website devoted exclusively to midwest sprint car racing? Giving pictures, video highlights, interviews, stories and results from most local races and all major, or "Crown Jewel" events throughout the midwest, with behind the scenes interviews, shop tours etc. with the people that make it happen week in and week out. How about a website that will give reliable "live" updates from the racetrack, with the option of the updates getting sent to your phone when you cant be at your computer..

Let me know what you think about this pro or con, feel free to add anything..Thanks

We get that for free right here on IOW :14: why would I pay for that when it's all right here :11:

I would love it, and we even kicked around the idea of starting it, patterned off what the folks at DirtonDirt.com did. But I just don't think the fans of this genre are as plentiful or as passionate as the dirt late model contingent. Just can't see how it would work. I would absolutely love to see it, though!!

No thanks. I've got everything I need right here on IndianaOpenWheel.com. And have had for quite a few years, now.

I'm with you,brother. And,a big "Thank You" to Bill for giving us all a place where we can rant and rave and ramble (How's that for alliteration?) and he doesn't charge us a dime! DirtonDirt.com is a great site. The editor used to work for a weekly late model paper, and the video guy was a network news sports anchor in Wisconsin, their other partner worked in sales for a radio station. Indiana traditional sprint car racing is rather small compared to dirt late model racing across the country. I could see it working with winged cars, or a maybe a combination of winged and traditional cars. Even go look at the ticket prices, pit pass and purses for a 410 race at Williams Grove, Attica or Fremont compared to Indiana tracks. When a weekly show at the Grove pays $3,000 to win and a National series pays only $1,000 more? This is what holds back the professional side of sprint car racing. But with the "we're too good" mentality, that is so prevalent from many of the posters on this board, I can never see it happen. The difference in a site like that and a site like this is, there is no illiterate ramblings from half corked old men fantasizing about the end of the last millenium mixed in with the threads that are positive and have some constructive ideas. But I do realize this is a forum for such. The driver interviews, and complete coverage of big events are worth it alone. People with kids who don't/can't go in the pits, can still see their favorite driver after the races.

Eldora pulled 172 cars from 3 countries, 26 states and 20,000 fans for a $42,000 to win race last weekend, and several other late model races throughout the country still pulling lots of cars we can see dirt late models are a very popular form of racing. Compare Sprint week to the Summer Nationals. 7 days of racing or 28 days of racing. I just don't think there is enough sprint car racing to justify people paying the money for a site like this, or for three people to solely rely on this as their income, as it would be a full time job.

I do like this site, that's why I come back. I have to say, if I was older I don't know if I could want to learn how to use a computer. So even if I disagree with some of the posters, I am glad they know how to use a computer. Without their knowledge and history there would be no racing.

Jerry Shaw - Really? Amidst all this brainstorming, I had you penciled in as a possible contact for doing some work on this project, since most of your posts on here seem to be somewhat intelligent, and informative.

I once thought http://www.4m.net had everything I need to keep up with what was going on in Dirt Late Model racing..until I became a subscriber to http://www.dirtondirt.com. Just food for thought.
