Last time I talked to Ember and Troy, Ember said that was a 15 year old Comp Car and the motor was 12 years old made with help from Ernie Elliott. Troy tears it down twice a year and sleeves, pistons and what not. He added a oil cooler on back of cage and still has to take a lap or two to cool it down as it runs a bit hot.

Great Job Troy.
Is that the only copetitive Non Down Tube car in Reg Operation in Indiana? Im certain its the only Ford Non Downtube :)

Charles I posted this yesterday in another thead, This is just fyi. also there is no oil cooler on the car.

I just called Troy to congratulate him. Of course we talked about his car and the frame is a 86 gambler copy built in 2000 by competition welding, his engine is a fontana and was new in 1993 and he refreshed it himself earlier this summer.

The Link's are without a doubt true sprint car racers and it is awesome to see Troy win. But not only win, he raced his butt off to win it from deep in the pack! It was no gimmie... he earned it.

Congrats to him and his Dad. It is great to see them still racing after all these years and still making that Ford go fast.
