USAC and Sargent Will Reschedule DuQuoin Silver Crown

...right?

One thing I read said that they were "trying" to find a date.
I say, "find one!"

Surely they'll get this thing rescheduled - what a bummer it would be if they don't

Wouldn't bet on it. They always run that race during the fair...fair almost over....Probably have to wait till next year...But who knows...Me personally would love to see it rescheduled

Back when the Hayes family owned this fair, the race had no rain date. They simply refunded the tickets. Rainouts have been rare at DuQuoin. I've been attending since 1965, and I believe this is only the second rainout. The 1974 race was rain shortened, but had enough laps to be official.

There was a rainout in the past ten years. Can't remember what year it was, but I think it was in the first few years after the new lighting and wall were put up. Trackenterprises.com website is saying that they will find a date. I found that after putting up this post

Yes, both rainouts have come since the lights and new wall were put in. I believe 2003 was the year the race was run on the following Saturday night.

I would hope they can find a new date but I would not hold your breath.

Wasn't that pretty much the last great Silver Crown race? The one that Tobias won? And if I recall the story, it was fairly well-attended, despite the Salukis playing a home game that same night...

A rain date will be about like Aliens froma nother world: I'll believe it when I see it. They (USAC and Track Enterprises) don't have an impressive record of finding rain dates for races.

How many Hoosier Hundreds were scuttled due to rain? I hope they run it, but I am not holding my breath.
