indiana spec sprints

was wondering how many people would be interested you could use the limited late model motor or limited modified motor and use a carb maybe run b-town,vernon,the burg and florence.probly build one cheaper than a new mini-sprint:22:

I agree with you. I can't believe Indiana doesn't offer a spec sprint series. The promotors need this class. It is definately a step in the right direction.

Could you tell me more about the specs on the motors and cars. I want real specifics. Wheels, shocks etc.......

have whatever shocks just use the same spec tires that they use in ohio, maybe steel rims this is just a thought i have had for awhile the class would be a good stepping stone

I'm just yanking your chain. This subject is brought up all of the time, but it is a very hard sell in Indiana. The Sprint racing is about as cheap as you can get without going spec racing.(Actually; probably as cheap depending on where you run)

Steel wheels aren't really that cost effective when you really analyze it.

I'm sorry Pine; I won't try and lead Newbies into the lions den anymore.

It is always the same story.... steel blocks only; no tire rule; no adjustable shocks; NW 305?'s..... blah blah blah.....

If it was cheap we would all do it....... $$$ can buy winning and still does most nights here in Indiana.

I don't know......I've seen alot of great cars with bad drivers in them who couldn't make shows and I have seen average at best cars with great drivers run circles around them.

$$$ Buys everything. It buys the computers and internet connections we are using right now. It takes some amount of money to do most things.

I agree with your statement. I know of one such driver who has the best of everything and hasn't won a thing. So I can see your side of this.

All I am saying is this, I can hire a driver to win if I have the best equipment. Has people won with a low budget sure they have but the odds are against them.

I am mostly talking about making sprint car racing something that is affordable to everyone. I doubt that will ever happen. I like the idea of it all and support SCORA cars as much as possible but I do not see how these series will survive through the economy now. 18cars at a $3000 to win MSCS race tonight? Amazing.....

I gotta tell ya....I don't know how much cheaper the cars can be. I'm not going to dredge through this and bore all of us to tears, but what people think they see.... just isn't as it appears.

The odds are stacked against every team every night. Look at how many sprint week shows over the years where the winner from the night before struggles or misses the next night or favorites miss the show.

I think too many guys who think they don't have anything have more than they think. They are just too worried about what the other people are doing and not worried about themselves.

Say you are a budget spec guy and you have $14,000 in your car and you crash racing for $500(Generous) to win and $75 to start. You have still tore up the same amount of stuff(Probably more since we have a weight rule and the cars weigh 1300 pounds) as you would have if you had a $14,000 car and you were running for $3,000 to win and $250 to start with a guarentee of $100 tow if you miss the show.(Although you would be almost guarenteed to make the $250 because for some reason most everyone didn't want a chance at the money.)

It's a free country and people can do what they want, but I just don't see a need for it. At least not here.

Brady Bacon ran through the competition during the TNT swing last year with a $8500 motor and a Triple XXX car. Don't know about the motor this year, but probably was the same. About as cheap as you can get. Believe it or not, there are many teams where you think they have all the latest greatest and they don't and many guys who struggle each week have everything but the kitchen sink. Not in every case, but more than you think.

i seen a roler for about 3500$ and the late model motors cost about 5000$ so you could have a car on the track for about 8-9k$ the aleast everybody would have the same car so to speak
