Re: Check your Oil Filters
Serves a person right for using a Fram filter in the first place-they're junk.

Re: Check your Oil Filters
I was at a race this year where the filter gasket blew out on someones car. I think it was at Richmond. Wonder if it was one of these filters???

Re: Check your Oil Filters
Go buy a wix 6101 or 6101R. Cut it open and do the same w/ a HP4. You'll see...

Re: Check your Oil Filters
Why does every post have to turn into a pizzin match over something.
I tried to share some information that may help save a racer a motor or worse. It does not have to be turned into a :angry-smiley-007:over which filter brand is better. Please! Maybe other brands of filters are better, many are probably worse. The same can be said for any product where there is competion between manufacturers. People have their preferences and no one is knocking that. No one deserves to have their engine damaged because of a defective product. I know that several people use Fram filters and felt they should be informed of a potential problem. Some additional information on this recall and where to find the date code is available at http://www.motorstate.com/pdf/FramRecall.pdf |

Re: Check your Oil Filters
Thanks for the info Go Fast.
We experienced the very issue that recall notes at the PRI race. Luckily only 2 quarts leaked out and the fire was small and over quickly. Checking the shelves I have 3 more of these bad units. guess I'll have to quit buying my racecar parts at wal-mart!LOL:rolling: |
