Joliet Stadium Purse payout and hotels of choice
 

Joliet, IL Aug. 8 The purse for the Last Stand at the Stadium, to be held on September 11 and 12 at the historic Joliet Memorial Stadium has been released and Hampton Inn’s of Joliet and Town Place Suites by Marriott have signed on as the Official Hotel’s of the Last Stand at the Stadium.

The National midget feature will pay $3000.00 to win and $200.00 to start the event. The Ford Focus midget feature winner will take home $1000.00 or $100.00 to start. The UMARA Sportsman midget feature will pay $1000.00 to win and $100.00 to start. The UMARA Dwarf Car winner will take home $750 or $100 to start and the INEX Legends $750 to win and $100 to start.

The entry fee for competitors will be $50 for the weekend plus $60 for a two-day pit pass or $30 per day, if purchased prior to the event. If purchased at the gate, the entry fee will be $60 and the two-day pit pass will be $70 or $35 per day. If you are not a current UMARA member, you will NOT be required to join for this event. This is a non-points paying event for all divisions.

Because of the history of “The Stadium”, the finality of this event, and the large purse being offered to the competitors, the event has already drawn the attention of drivers and car-owners from all over the country. Local racing expert, Mike Guglielmucci Jr. says ” We have always dreamed of putting something like this together at The Stadium, but never thought it would happen. Now we have a very special opportunity to give the old place the proper send-off it truly deserves.”

If you are traveling a good distance to attend this event and need a place to stay, Hampton Inn’s of Joliet have been announced as the Official Hotel of The Last Stand at the Stadium. They have blocked 50 rooms between their three Joliet locations at a special “Racers Race” of $89/night. Hampton Inn I-80 and the Town Place Suites by Marriott are both located at I-80 and Houbolt Rd/Empress Rd. and just 2.6 miles from Joliet Memorial Stadium. The Hampton I-55 is located at I-55 and Route 30 in Joliet and is just 4.5 miles from the Joliet Stadium. Both locations also offer plenty of gas stations and dining choices in the immediate areas.
