Event Update: Midget Program on Hold

As of noon - The rain showers have saturated the pit area and weepers have developed on the racetrack. Currently, the event is on hold. Anderson Speedway officials and USAC officials will make a decision on the event at 12:30. Please check back for updates.

Rain Showers Cancel USAC National Midget Event on Saturday Night

Officials from Anderson Speedway and the United States Auto Club have mutually agreed to cancel the USAC Mopar National Midget Series event that was scheduled on Saturday, July 25.

The cancellation is due to the persistent rain showers overnight and this morning along with additional light rain that have saturated the pit area and additionally caused several weepers on the racetrack. Track officials estimate it would take 24 hours to dry out the facility even with the clearing weather expected later today.

Anderson Speedway will return to racing action on Monday, July 27 when NASCAR star Kyle Busch will be making his first appearance at Anderson Speedway for the Redbud 300 presented by Great Deals Magazine with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. The Redbud 300 is a tribute to the original American Speed Association founded by Rex and Becky Robbins.

RAINS, WET GROUNDS FORCE "ANDERSON 200" CANCELLATION

Heavy rains in Indianapolis and central Indiana Saturday have forced cancellation of Saturday night's scheduled 200-lap "Anderson 200" USAC Mopar National Midget race. The next series event is the 32nd Speedway Motors "Belleville Midget Nationals" in Kansas July 30-August 1.

we were there. waited around gas city for a while then drove down to the track at 4pm only to find a beautiful afternoon and an empty track. track looked fine and so did the pits. a little water here and there but what do i know? raceway park ran and so did the pavement track at Ft. Wayne. (HOSS) i guess we should have called. i keep forgetting the stay home rule if there is any rain. is Anderson having issues with usac?

I think the "weepers" in the track was a big concern.
