Oogie Goff Wins at Rushville


Oogie Goff was the winner of the UMRA feature at the Rush County Fairgrounds in Rushville on Friday night. He made the winning pass on teammate Trent Henderson in turn four coming to two laps to go in the 25-lap race. Jason Goff finished third, Zach Cougill was fourth, and Doug Roland rounded out the top five. The win marked the second straight win for Oogie Goff as a car owner and his first as a driver since August of 2007.
Fast qualifier was Terry Goff at 12.691 seconds. Certificates to the Dutch Mill Buffet in Millroy went to Oogie Goff for his feature win, Terry Goff for winning the “fast” trophy dash, and Jeremy Rainwater snagged the “slow” trophy dash. Heat races went to Trent Henderson, Oogie Goff, and Jeremy Rainwater. The G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race” went to Ron Hamm.
In non-winged mini sprint competition, Brandon Rose swept the night as he took the heat race and then led from flag to flag in the 25-lap feature to win the race and a Dutch Mill Buffet certificate.
The UMRA and the mini sprints will share the card on Saturday night as they celebrate Independence Day with some more exciting action at Rushville.
