Driver fights for his life

I'm not sure if this has already been posted. If so, I apologize for the duplication. Either way, this man and his family are in need of prayers.

How sad. I hope that every driver or family member of a driver who ses this; looks at their safety program and makes upgrades if needed.

While fire isn't as commen as in days gone by; it is still there. I cringe everytime I see a driver with a t-shirt instead of a fireproof shirt. I even cringe when I see the short sleeve fire proof shirts and shorts.

To last five minutes in a fire of that size, I have to believe he had ample fire protection, I just wish he would have kept his helmet on. Best wishes to he and his family.

Is that a Mini Sprint?

I believe it is a micro. I have to assume it didn't have a bladder by the way the fuel ran out. When dealing with methonal, you have to have water to put it out properly.

Thoughts and prayers are with this driver and his family. May you have a quick recovery.

Reading Kam's website, it sounds like it may not have had a bladder, and it sounds like they are working to rectify that in other cars. My prayers to the family....

At work they talked to some people at the track and it was a mini sprint and had no bladder in the tank. Tracks needs to mandate fuel cells in these cars. Its hard for me to believe the insurance companies have not pushed the rule for bladders forward. The issues in his recovery will be many and very costly. I hope everything turns out ok. My prayers go out to the entire family.
