USAC/CRA video highlights from Perris 11/17

Thanks to Kittle Motorsports, www.racewayvideo.com has been updated with highlights of last nights 40 lap "Jack Kindoll Classic" from Perris Auto Speedway. Check out the photo finish as "The Kruser" gets credited with the win over Mike Spencer. It was about as close of a finish as I have ever seen. Keep in mind that the transponders are located toward the back of the car and they are read off of the 2nd pole of the flag stand. You be the judge!

Thanks
Jeff K

Wow! What a way to end the season. If I were Spencer I would question that finish. It was, as you said, as close as it can get, but I don't think the Kruser quite made it. Either way a great, great finish! Thanks for the clip.:applaud::thumb:

As a scorer, I've seen some very close finishes, but that's got to be one of the closest I've ever seen. I would check to see that both cars had the transponder mounted in the correct location.

What a race and what great video. Thanks so much for sharing this year so those of us who couldn't be at a particular race could at least see some of the action. Greatly appreciated!!

As crazy as it sounds, where the guy waving the flag is located at most short tracks has nothing to do with figuring the finishing order. The scoring line dictates where the race ends and may be located away from the flag stand because of blocked sightlines from the scorer's stand or physical limitations of locating the transponder receiver. The scoring line/transponder pickup at Perris is located past the flag stand. Kruseman was ahead by .005 seconds at the scorer's line. Putnamville has (or used to anyway) a huge distance between the flag stand and the scorer's line. The scorer's line there is halfway back to turn 4. There's just enough space that the guy leading could cross the scorer's line and spin to a stop before the flag stand but would be scored the winner.

I Worked At Putnamville For 16 Years ( Before The D.a. Era ) I Never Knew That The Starting Line Was Anywhere But The Flag Stand. Just Don`t Sound Lodgical To Me.but I Don`t Know Much.
