Oh My God!!

That midget race tonight was almost indescribable! It was total warfare, from green to checker. The only thing I can compare it to is one of those late night Chinese Kung Fu movies. One of those that from the opening credits till the time the screen fades to black, there are battles breaking out all over the place. Even battles on top of other battles. The only thing this race was missing were gongs, cheesy sound effects and dubbed-in english.:3:

Sweet led, then lost the lead to Wise. Then got it back. Then got jumped on the start by Kuhn. Then took the lead back, only to have the victory taken away from him on the last corner of the last lap. And Kuhn had come from the 7th or 8th row!!! And how about the free-for-all that went on between Hines, Clauson, Buckwalter, Boat, Coons and Beauchamp (who came from the tail)!!

I haven't gotten to see Brad Kuhn drive as much as some people have. But, from what I have seen, in Midget Weeks and USAC races, I don't know how the hell you couldn't be a fan of the guy. He's almost like Vogler in a midget, in that he just doesn't quit and has such a will to win. He definitely has the heart of a champion.

This could very well be the best race I see all year. It was one of the best midget races I've seen in a long time. But having been at Midget Week @ The Burg last year, there's a decent chance I might see a better one in less than 24 hours. And Kokomo looms in less than 48 hours. For those people that get on here and forecast the demise of racing, you need to get yourself to a USAC Midget race as soon as you can and then come back here and see if you can say that same doom and gloom stuff, with a straight face. Racing is alive and well, IMO.

We weren't there, obviously, but I've been preaching for a couple o years now that there may not be a more "tenacious" driver in openwheel racing than Brad Kuhn. Yeah, he's been the Natl. Midget Driver of the Year a couple o times, but I still don't think he gets near the credit he deserves.
I guess what I personally appreciate the most is that he concentrates mainly (and not neccessarily by choice) on the mighty Midgets.
Great job tonight B-Rad......:9:

I have to agree you Jerry!!! It was a great race. Don't forget about the sprint cars though. They put on a great show as well. Brady Short ran away from everybody but the battle for 2-6th was excellent. The wife and I had a great time. I am sure tonight will be just as good! I can't wait!

Definitely. If you take away the driver who opened up a big can of it on the whole field, that race would have been nearly as great as the midget race. Coons, Boat, Stanbrough, Darland and Bland just went at it tooth and nail, wheel to wheel, the entire race. Brady was just so dominant, though. And don't forget about Dickie Gaines coming from the tail, to snatch 8th place. Mike Miles should be proud of the job they did yesterday and taking the track back from Mother Nature, the day before.
