Dick Gaines Memorial & Section A!!..
 

We would really like to see one of these "better financed" teams like Walker, TSR, KK, CGR or Truckers ETC., step up and give Dickie Gaines a ride that gives him a chance to win his Dad's memorial race. However, if that doesn't come to fruition and as long as our car still has 4 wheels touching the ground and a running motor, he definitely has a ride. He was informed tonight.

My next point! A couple of weeks ago the generous IOW'ers from Section A offered to help us with tires when we ran the "double" at the M.A.S.S winged/non-wing race. As tempting as it was to accept the offer, we couldn't bring ourselves to take your hard earned money. In retrospect, I'm glad we didn't because we had a sick motor the entire night and the tire would've gone to waste. I want you guys to know that Brad and I really appreciated your kind gesture! However, we may take you up on that offer, if it still stands, when and if Dickie runs our car in the $10K Memorial race. We normally run on used rubber but I would like to give him a fighting chance on that night by putting him on fresh tires. Hopefully we can talk about it as that time approaches. Chase is to young to run this race with USAC. The wheels in my head are turning. If we have something left by then I am sure we would be up for it.

Now that would be an awesome sight to see! Dickie Gaines driving a Briscoe wrenched car!! Both proven winners!!

Chuck, thanking the Stevens guys as well. That was a heck of a show and in reallity Craig made the B main super exicting to watch and the rest of the night better :)
