Push Trucks

We don't here much about these individuals that push every weekend, at whichever track.I had the opportunity today to talk to a friend of mine that pushes @ Bloomington every week and at whatever track/series needs the help. They do not get paid much if any at all for doing this.
He and three others were headed to Concord to help push the WoO for their season finale. Talked about excited, they are. This one gentleman I know, was so excited because he is laid off the rest of this week and all of next week, he could make the journey.
So this Saturday night if one happens to be watching Speed Channel, look for the pushtruck drivers, you might have seen them at your local track:checkered:

What ever happened to the two way push truck, that you used to see at Eldora and Winchester? It was the one where the front and back looked the same. Or the back and front looked the same.

Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL has the best push truck crew I have ever seen.

POWRi's push truck crew is also very good.

Spoonriver's, well, I was always taught if you can't say anyhting nice don't say anything so I'll leave Spoonriver's alone :emote20:

Joe Chambers and Crew, could not have put on the shows we had at VCS without there help. They do a awesome job at every track they work.

DWB is correct, the Grundy crew is second to none. Rumor has it that veteran Everett Holt may retire after Ft. Wayne. I for one will miss the rumble of the Corvette powerplant under the hood of the famous maroon GMC.

I time these guys all the time for fun. They routinely fire a full field (of 24 cars) in four minutes or under. I've seen it take that long to get a tow truck out to push a car off the track at a stock car show.

Thanks to the push truck guys everywhere for the contributions you make to the tracks and clubs where you work.

Or to tow a TSR Silver Crown off at Springfield! I was amazed at that towtruck operator's "skill" or lack thereof!
