We were talking about the Dixon automotive car the other day. I know you drove it some, can you add some more info? Was it a cut down champ car?
Is it the # 97 car in the Dennis Unger collection of 63 DuQuoin Photos?

it was martin bros indy car they where from indiana! Finished 7th in the 1955 500 with AL HERMAN & 19TH IN 1954 WITH frank army driving i think dizz wilson was the chief mech.! It was still a long wheelbase car with a chevy in it when i drove it a few times! I made my first usac race in it at winchester a 100 lapper that johnny rutherford won! Later on it was shortend up and sonny ates done good in it at salem! Bill dixon was from decatur ill. Real nice guy!
