Terre Haute Action Track INFO for Photogs.
I had heard that there would be changes this year to the area that Photographers could shoot from so I sent an E-Mail to T.H.A.T and the following is the reply I Got
Joe, There will be a strict rule forbidding credentialed photographers from being with 6-8 feet of the inside guard rails in the turns. No one will be allowed on the outside walls in the turns when the track is green. USAC is also imposing much stricter guidelines this season. Insurance is driving the major portion of the change, and those shooters that are not compliant will be removed from the facility and will not receive credentials for future events. I have a still photo that one of our safety crew took last year of a photographer sitting on the inside guard rail while a race is going on. I'm not sure who it was, but if I find out he'll never get in again unless he buys a ticket. Racing is dangerous enough...so the last thing we want is a few guys with zero common sense putting the facilities liability policy at risk. Feel free to forward this to anyone you know who might shoot racing, because it's going to tighten up everywhere. Like always, one idiot is going to make it tougher for everyone else...but that's the way it goes. Mike King I want to say Thank You to Mike King for a fast response |

So it sounds like where I was standing last year is still good (I maybe got just to the drainage area in the turns. I seen the person sitting inside guardrails last year. I was told something really worse than that...I am glad.
I was normally in the red area behidn the new drainage. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...Untitled-2.jpg |

Too bad on no outsides. Last year mike told John Mahoney and I it was ok, as long as when we got hit, we didn't fall on the track. He didn't want us to slow down the show.:rolling:rolling:rolling
