I consider myself a student of the sport, and I enjoy learning about the history of it... What are some good sites to get more history of sprint car racin, and get old pictures?:thumb

Check out this link. It is in my opinion the best source on the net for vintage open wheel pics.

Go to yahoo groups and join "racing history groups" a wealth of history and links of all kinds can be found. You'll have to search around. Published historians are on this group.

More specifically, go to groups.yahoo.com and search for RacingHistory (all one word). A number of IOW members are also RH members.

Note that RH is limited to discussions of open wheel racing before 1970.

If you can tap into Al Consoli's pics, you will see some of the most beautiful pictures of some of the most famous cars and drivers that ever raced in the modern era. My favorite is Al SR. in the Johnny Lightning dirt car.

Go to ebay or your local library.....

Find a copy of Joe Scalzo's "Stand on the Gas"; it's a good read on sprint racing a while back.....
