Another Midwest track closes
 

I’m seeing that Beaver Dam Raceway has closed, all the equipment has been sold and the property is up for sale. While not directly Indiana related, it is a sad day when any longtime racing venue is lost.

I'd like to hear the story of how Beaver Dam ended up with two race tracks a handful of miles apart.

My understanding is that the current owner of BD was completely over it and rejected at least one lease offer(I think a few).

There was a group who were going to shorten the track at the Dodge County Fairgrounds and race weekly. Was told at PRI that the fairboard nixed that like the week before.
