(in the spirit of keeping the site active); anyone have results from Thursday Night Thunder?

I saw videos from the "Heroes race" of Capps & Sammy wrecking (HARD) and Levi holding off Tony for the win; but that is all I know. (Do not see anything on TJ, Hoseheads, or NSSN either...).

Good racing at IRP with the midgets. This package fits much better than what we have seen with USAC the past several years. Maybe not a great idea putting old guys out there. I have said before midgets are for the young and the brave (and maybe a few old guys).

Asphalt midget races have unloaded at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. This heroes race on the 0.686-mile short track is honoring Irish Saunders.

Current NHRA point leader Tony Stewart makes his return to midget racing. He joins the field 8 drivers including Ryan Newman, Ron Capps, Sammy Swindell, Levi Jones, Davey Hamilton, Brad Noffsinger and Michael Lewis.

Mike Fedorcak and Ron Capps set the front row after the invert. They lead the field to the flagstand. 20 laps of asphalt midget racing are up next…

Main Event - Report

Green flag, Ron Capps gets jacked up from behind on the launch. He spins across the front stretch and collects Sammy Swindell! They both slam the inside wall and the red flag is out. Both drivers have climbed from the car.

This has now been trimmed to a 10 lap race and a single-file restart.

Michael Lewis has stalled just ahead of the restart. He gets a push to the pit lane.

Green, Levi Jones slides Mike Fedorcak for the lead into turn one. Ryan Newman takes over 2nd.

8 to go, Newman slides Jones in turn three. Jones crosses under him and retakes the lead.

7 to go, Tony Stewart makes it three wide for the lead! Jones holds them both off.

6 to go, Stewart slides Newman for 2nd.

5 to go, Newman reclaims 2nd in turn three.

4 to go, Stewart rolls the top in turn one. He clears Newman for 2nd.

3 to go, Stewart is closing on race leader Jones.

1 to go, Jones leads Stewart by three car lengths. Stewart wiggles at the entry to turn one.
