Cody comes into next Saturday's Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car race at Perris Auto Speedway third in series points. He is the highest-ranking local driver. With the drivers ranked first and second headed back to the Midwest for the season, Cody leads what is going to be a war for the point lead on Saturday, as only 14 points are separating third through eighth place in the championship standings.
