Plymouth, Beaver Dam, and Angell Park will be a heck of a weekend as well.

Neat to see LaSalle and Beaver Dam on the 2025 schedule! (As one track is coming back from being closed and since the other is listed for sale). And that they are coming back to APS! - was a cool show when they were there the last time (2016).

Sad to see RT66 get dropped but not surprised, it’s a high overhead facility and the crowd Friday was bad and while better on Saturday not remarkable. I’m a fan of LaSalle. I remember going there back in the day when there could’ve been 2 or 3 Kinser’s in the field. I remember Sammy crashing (memory might be wrong on car) the Channel Lock car down the back straight. It’s a high speed bullring but might be out of my distance to drive for wings these days

Agree that it was the channel lock car. About certain the one we are thinking of was in 1997. He also wrecked the channel lock car the next year though, racing for the win.

I can't find anything from the 1997 race, but I think it mighta been a September co-sanction with midgets (we had a car there. Was a nice trip).

Glad to see Vado getting bank on the schedule, I think that is one of the best facility's I have ever been to. I was also hoping to see RT66 get another shot but only so many weekends in the summer.

Heard from friend who helped work the race at Route 66 they look a $35,000 hit over weekend

Now THAT'S a hit.

The increased purses definitely hurt the margins these days. Now that both national series are at around $65-70k purse, that necessitates higher ticket prices which also may cause casual fans to pass on the show.

It hasn’t hurt established events yet, but not surprising that newer events outside of summer months in non sprint car hotbeds struggled.

Under the old purse structure, you’re likely looking at a $10-15k hit, and maybe you try it again. But at $35k, probably not any time soon.
