2024 Chuck Amati 68 Champion I drove the 2 1/2 hours to see this as I always do. I’ve only missed a couple since this great race has been held here since his passing.I was a bit disappointed to see 16 entries & couldn’t understand why? Their loss with $3500 to win. They sure had a beautiful day for a great race and it was, imho. With such a beautifully improved facility, these guys need a major race. Kudos to Josh Cunningham for a great Competition call As I saw it also. With Cody Trammel dominating with almost a seven second lead at one point it was too much for the rubber, resulting in a flat tire, taking him out of dominating the competition, leaving it up to a battle between Liguori, Scott and Lewis with Osbourne, Salisbury stalking ready to pounce and right behind. Ricky Lewis got up on the wheel & prevailed taking home the championship! Congratulations! Hard fought & well earned. Now looking back, I’m kind of glad the regular sprinters were the ones involved in this. Finishing a 68 lap feature is pretty good thing to have on your drivers résumé. Takes a lot of courage to be able to step up and run 68 laps and I still give hats off to any that scratched, and that didn’t make through to the feature & those completing it, for having courage to get out on that track and entertain us. I’m sure that Chuck is thrilled looking down upon us being honored this way. Thanks to all involved from the top down for having this event. I look forward to next year and more Racing at your great facility this year. Keep up the good work. 🇺🇸🏁👍✝️🙏 |
