Hangtown points
Is the point system at Hangtown 100 the same as "Passing points"? Anybody know where to find an explanation of how it works?
Also, since the format is so different from usual USAC races, how does it all translate into USAC points? |
Re: Hangtown points
The A-Mains only pay USAC points.
Here is a link to the format. It's like the one they used at Huset's this year. USAC Hangtown 100 Event Format |
Re: Hangtown points
The racings great, The whole PP system is rediculous. It'd still work with a eight invert with the regular format, take three from the heats and three from three consi's
Oh, so and so qualified seventh started second in his heat. won then starts twenty first in the feature. Total confusion............... And people did play the system at Husets thats for sure. |
Re: Hangtown points
So are they starting the heats straight up? Not a fan of this format either. As a fan, I can't tell what points a driver needs to make the feature or where they will start.

Re: Hangtown points
I think they inverted 8 in the heats

It's a good format with a lot of cars in attendance. I'm not really a fan of starting 8th in a heat and finish 5th go to the A-main if you qualified well.
The problem with this point system at Huset's was the low car count allowed abuse of the format. Personally I think USAC has the best format of all the major series. I would like to see USAC add a dash for the top six plus the four heat winners. If some of the heat winners were also top six don't add others. |
