My stepfather was in the Pacific aboard the USS Montpelier during World War II, arriving about a year after the attack on Pearl Harbor. His war stories have always been cause for skepticism, but I'm sure that he did witness things the likes of which we should pray that we don't ever have to see ourselves.
Yes, I sincerely believe that we must always remember not just Pearl Harbor, but the entire World War II history.

I felt that way too Jerry until I was able to visit the USS Arizona Memorial. Unknown to us on the same day as our vist there was a large, very large, group of WWII Veterans having a special ceremony that day to honor the lives lost. It was a Japanise Ceremony, I forgot what it was called, but they were all Japanise veterans travelling to the US to honor our lost. It was a very very emotional event that I will never ever forget. It changed my outlook for sure.

You don't like to honor those who gave their lives so you could, among many other things, make remarks on a message board?

My father was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was on the USS Oglala until it rolled after the torpedo struck the USS Helena tied up next to her. His stories from that day were fascinating. To attend some of the PHSA gatherings and be around the fellow survivors is truly an eye opening experience.
When my father passed away we buried him at sea at Pearl. The treatment and honor that our government treats their Pearl Harbor survivors makes one be damn proud to be an American.
