My stepfather, Sam Jones, passed away this morning. He gave so much to the racing industry and engine building and mentored many still turning wrenches today. Old timers in open wheel will remember him. For the youngsters, he founded Jones Engineering, who later merged with Weld Tech, to form 1Way Technologies.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. We lost a truly great man today. Heres a couple links and obit. 1964 NHRA US Nationals C/Gas Class Champion. Not open wheel, but this is how he got his start building engines and powered many Sprints and Midgets through the 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's |
Thoughts to all of Sam’s family and team at 1Way, He was a great friend and motor builder, definitely will miss him.
