Midget RR tires

I see that people run 84" RR tires at the chili bowl. What are the advantages to that vs the 82"? Obviously it will influence stagger and gearing, but are there any other benefits?

They’re also ran on 12” wide wheels too. So the benefit is more contact surface and still get stagger.
