Chandler speedway aka”Movieland” saga continues
 

And the drama continues. Looks like the judge has had enough of this loser.


CHANDLER, Ind. (WEHT) – The future of Movieland Speedpark, formerly Chandler Speedway, is once again up in the air after a judge ordered that the property go back to auction for a fourth time.

The speedway was up for auction in November for the third time this year, when a bankruptcy filing was made. That filing stopped the planned auction.

The court said in its ruling filed Thursday that, “the filing of the petition was part of a scheme to delay, hinder, or defraud creditors that involved… transfer of all or part ownership of, or other interest in, such real property without the consent of the secured creditor or court approval.”

In the ruling, the court also ordered owner Reno Fontana to “not interfere with or attempt to interfere with the conduct of the sale.”

Creditors are owed hundreds of thousands of dollars and several auctions have been ordered by the court to satisfy those debts.

Each of those three filings has been dismissed in court.

It's a shame what this idiot has done to the track and the local racers there over the last 2 years. Chandler could produce some good racing if it was in the right hands but it looks like whoever does buy it is going to face one hell of an uphill battle to shake this.

I care because I grew up going to the Chandler dragstrip. I saw the Stone, Woods and Cook 41 Willy’s match race John Mazmanian there. I care because every time this Reno guy swindles investors and the public, it makes it more difficult for a legitimate owner to attract investors, racers and the public to a facility. And finally, I care because it will ultimately probably end up as one more closed racing facility.
