LABOR DAY WEEKEND CHALLENGE
As the summer months wind down, the racing heats up with the annual Labor Day Weekend Challenge on Sunday, Sept. 1. The Brandeis Midwest Sprint Car Series and the UMP Modifieds will be in action at the “Class Track”, Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. The Brandeis Midwest Sprint Car Series drivers will be hoping to take home the top prize of $3000 as they head into the last three races on their schedule. Leading the points is driver Kyle Cummins with Dakota Jackson at second place and in the third position is Stephen Schnapf. The UMP Modifieds will also be in action as they compete for a $1000 payday. Warm ups and group qualifying starts at 6:30 with the heat races scheduled for 7:30 PM (CST). Tickets for this event are $20 for adults, $15 for students (ages 13-18), and as always children 12 & under are admitted free. The price for a pit pass is $30 with the pit gate opening at 3:30 and the grandstands at 4:30 PM (CST). |

24 drivers signed in for the Brandies Midwest Sprint Car Series event at Tri-State Speedway on Greenwell Auto Body night.
2019 point leader Kyle Cummins set overall fast time as the only car to enter the 13 second bracket with a time of 13.837 Heat 1 was won by the 61m of Stephen Schnapf from Newburgh, IN who started 2nd followed by the 5k of Kent Schmidt, 3 of Dakota Jackson, the 38 of Chet Williams and the 23 of Brian Karraker. Heat 2 was won by the 17 of Kendall Ruble from Vincennes, IN who started 4th followed by 11p of Brady Short, the 4b of Donny Brackett, and the 99 of Alec Sipes. Heat 3 was won by the 3R of Kyle Cummins from Princeton, IN who made a turn 4 pass coming to the checkered flags, followed by the 5s of Chase Stockon, the 7 of Critter Malone, the 75 of Dustin Christie and the 36 Collin Ambrose. The B Main event was won by the 14 of young gun Jadon Rogers from Worthington, IN followed by the 20 of Chayse Hayhurst from the 9th staring spot, The 7r of Ryan Bond, the 79 of Matt Humphrey and the 7 of Sam Scott. The Brandies Midwest Sprint Car Series A Main had a couple of young guns starting on the front row with Newburgh, IN’s Stephen Schnapf starting on the pole and Vincennes, IN’s Kendall Ruble starting on the outside front row. As the green flag flew, Schnapf set sail in his 61m and led the first 7 circuits until he got into lap traffic and bobbled giving Kyle Cummins in the 3R the opportunity he needed to duck to the inside and take over the point. Cummins never looked back as he led the remaining 23 Laps to claim his 9th MSCS victory of the Season and 6th victory in a row at Tri-State Speedway this season. Following Cummins to the checkers was the 61m of Stephen Schnapf, the 5s of Chase Stockon in his brand new Velocity Chassis, the 36 of Brady Short, the 17 of Kendall Ruble to round out the top 5. Kent Schmidt in the 5k, Critter Malone in the 7, Donny Brackett in the 4b, Dakota Jackson in the 3, and Brian Karraker in the 23 rounded out the top 10. Kyle Cummins continues to lead the points standings and remains a perfect 6 for 6 at Tri-State Speedway this season with only 2 Brandies Midwest Sprint Car Series events left on the schedule. |
