Re: Veterans Day

My Grandfather was a war veterean, but in Japan. My Grandmother was very
proud of any soldier who fought in war be it American or otherwise.

2) My Dad was a war Veterean. A member of the 442nd, the most highly
decorated fighting unit in America during WWII, and yes he was Japanese
also, but an American citizen and proud it and willing to die for it and it's
freedom.

3) My brother cried all the way to the Airport. He did not want to die, but
he served his time in Vietnam.

4) Sad to say, God or my country did not call me to duty. I wonder what I
would have done? Went or stayed home? I certainly was thinking about it as the time came near. They stopped the draft in 1973, the year I graduated.

A few weeks ago about 270 Americans died in Iraq. I remember my 7th grade
teacher putting pictures on the back wall of our classroom showing all the casualties of war. A lot of dead people, some soldiers/American soldiers
and people of Vietnam, citizens.

I wonder how long it will take, how many more will die before we bring our
boys and girls back home?

Sincerely,

Larry Otani:headbang
