MMSA standouts!

Coffey puts one on the board, but Trammel leads the count going into Tri-State Speedway.

Brandon Coffey is a non wing threat, that is what many MMSA competitors are beginning to realize.

It has been a busy month of racing in Indiana, and that includes the MMSA. The summer heat didn't keep everyone away from joining the MMSA at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on July 1st , and it certainly didn't keep MMSA rookie Brandon Coffey from dominating the field. The grassroots non wing event brought some heavy competition for Coffey including standout from Illinois Mitchel Davis, and multi time MMSA Champion Andy Bradley who has raced few times in 2018. However Coffey looked like a veteran as he methodically sliced through the slower traffic in his heat, earning him the pole of the trophy dash. Coffey was able to hold off a hard charging Justin Lewis to earn the pole of the feature.
Patience and persistence paid off as he lead every lap during feature time, and Brandon Coffey became the 6th different driver to earn a win here in the 2018 season.

Cody Trammel continues to dominate the points standings.

Saturday night the MMSA traveled to Salem's Thunder Valley Speedway for USAC wing action. The summer heat kept many competitors away, but some very fast cars were in attendance to do battle on a very slick racing surface.

Heat race one would be all Trammel, and heat two would go to Lewis. Is was certain to set one exciting feature line up. However Colin Miller was the black horse of the evening, Miller would take a early commanding lead leaving Lewis, Trammel and Coffey to sort out the back markers. Things became interesting once Miller reached lap traffic , and unfortunately being conservative did not pay off. Trammel made quick work of the held up Miller and Lewis, by threading the needle to the winners circle. In ten MMSA sanction events the series has boasted six different winners with Trammel leading the count at four wins.

This week the MMSA travels to the Tri State Speedway "The Class Track".
Racers from the Ohio and Kentucky groups will take on the best the MMSA has to offer. Who will join the list of MMSA winners in 2018? Will local favorite Dean Parker be able to pull off the upset, will Ohio's Brad Strunk be able to put his name on the list?

Only time will tell, see you at the races....
