JUNE 16TH - FAMILY NIGHT
It’s “Family Night at the Races presented by Kelsey Chevrolet” Saturday June 16th at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind. All children ages 12 and under receive FREE general admission. We are also hosting a Food Drive in conjunction with our friends at Kroger. For each item you bring to donate you will receive a chance to win a $100 Kroger gift card. Remember all special promotions, tickets and Family Four Packs are only redeemable at the main front gate entrance. Pit passes cannot be purchased as an upgrade from a promo ticket, Family Four Pack, or a theme night. The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints, Budweiser UMP Modifieds, Impact Sports Pure Stocks, and the Bessler’s U Pull & Save Hornets will be competing Saturday with racing scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. This event will feature the standard Lawrenceburg payout of $1,500 to win and $225 to start the sprint feature, $100 tow money to all sprints that do not start the feature, and the “Grasshopper Award” – a $63 cash prize to the sprint feature hard charger courtesy of the Lawrenceburg Speedway Safety Crew. The Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind., kicks off the second half of its 2018 race season this Saturday, June 16th, with Family Night at the Races presented by Kelsey Chevrolet.
Garrett Abrams (Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints), Brad Wieck (Budweiser UMP Modifieds), Don Grace (Impact Sports Pure Stocks), and Cordell Moore (Bessler’s U Pull & Save Hornets) are the current point leaders and each is hoping to extend their point lead Saturday night. Wieck, Grace, and Moore are all former Lawrenceburg track champions but for Abrams, his spot at the top of the points heap is unfamiliar territory. Although being the point leader is something new, running fast at The Burg isn’t. In the ten previous Kelsey Chevrolet sprint features, going back to June of last season, Abrams has finished outside of the top ten only once and has a win and a pair of fourth-place finishes already this year. After a disastrous race two weeks ago that saw him miss the feature and relinquish the point lead, Dickie Gaines will be looking to rebound this weekend. Gaines’ quest for a second Lawrenceburg Speedway track championship is not out of reach as there are still six point races remaining. Three-time track champion Joss Moffatt is currently third in points followed closely by Michael Fischesser, with rookie Brett Hankins rounding out the top five. Cars are set to hit the track for practice Saturday night at 6:00 pm with racing following at 7:00 pm. Adult general admission is $15 and children 12 and under are free.
