the most exciting 2 minutes
Well it's long been said that the Kentucky Derby is the most exciting 2 minutes in sports. While I have come to accept that an argument could be made for that statement, back in the 70s at the Terre Haute Action Track, I was not buying. I can't remember exactly what year it was, but it was a Hulman Classic that was being televised on I think the Wide World of Sports. What a great show that was. They usually covered a couple event's in the same broadcast. Anyway I remember after a lengthy delay asking my dad, what are we waiting for, and he said they were waiting for the Derby to run, then they would start the race here, to broadcast it live. At that time I was like who cares about a horse race when we got sprint car's to run! Anyway, as time has passed, I did realize what a spectacular event the Kentucky Derby is, a right of spring like the Masters, and my favorite, the Indianapolis 500. But tomorrow, I'll choose sprint car's over the the Run for the Roses, as we'll be heading to Plymouth for USAC. This time though, I won't have to worry about the horse race holding up the car race, and I'll set my dvr so I can watch the horses when I get home.
