Dooling Hayward 63
 

Anyone know what the deal is with this team? It was only a month ago that it seems they left Brady Bacon hanging and shut down their sprint car operation. Now they have been out a couple of times with Kevin Thomas. Seems like an odd deal.

I thought the same but glad to see them running still

Great car to be able to run when not in your main car.

But they’re not even the same cars, are they? Thomas, Jr. was in a DRC at Kokomo. Looks like they just put 63 vinyl on his cars. What happened to the cars Bacon was running?

I'll add since it was a USAC show why wasnt KTJ running the Hoffman Mean Green colors?

Ah ok. It doesn't answer the OP. But on facebook KTJ did a little shop tour. He had 2 Mean Green Cars and was building a 3rd specifically for weekly shows without touching his USAC stuff. Maybe Dooling Hayward is the one that funded the car?

This would be a reasonable assumption, since as QuickTime pointed out Thomas's 63 is a DRC, not a spike. Assuming the Dooling/Hayward spikes are at the DH shop. Looks like it must be a sponsorship deal for the nonsanctioned shows. He rolls it out of his own trailer as well. Don't think it was a deal where Bacon was fired and Thomas hired. They stopped their sprint car operation and gave Thomas some support for his deal. Also, Bacon said he is much more comfortable in a xxx so it seems to have been at least a little bit mutual.
