IOW Policy

Is it mandatory, or discretionary, or what on reporting IOW’ers at a fender car race? And what is the penalty for such attendance? I might need to take his dirty ugly purple hat and bribe him not to report him.

I don't know about the best race in the world but it dam sure is the best party at a dirt track since Pennsboro stopped hosting the Dirt Track World Championship!! I know that for sure since I've attended both!

I'm in big trouble!! I've attended about 25 World 100's and if that ain't enough to get a reprimand, this year will be 46 consecutive and 48 total USAC/ARCA stock car races at The Springfield Mile during the Illinois State Fair.

Oh the humanity!!

Guilty as charged - how many times have I had to say that in my life? At least this time there was no girl brandishing a weapon.

But if all the gin joints in the world, you had to walk into that one last night. Thunderbird is a "no frills" track, but the racing sure was good last night.

My hat isn't that ugly, is it? If memory serves me correctly (which is hasn't been lately) I got it free at an end-of-the-year SOD banquet. It was nice looking THEN. :)

Re: IOW Policy

Schedule said hot laps at 6. There were cars in the chute and they came on the radio and said "Ok, it's 6 o'clock." And cars pulled onto the track. 98 cars in 3 divisions. One late model punted another, otherwise no "racing incidents" all night. Less than a handful of spins all night. Stopped for a bit of water three times. Never excessively. Track was great (multigroove) all night and the racing was even better. Zero cautions in any of the three features. In the car heading home at 10:00. To top it all off, I got to sit at a picnic table and chat with a world famous celebrity (with an ugly hat) during one of the water breaks. This is my one fender race a year every year and man is it worth it.
