Head to Kokomo
We are heading to Kokomo, anybody eles?
|
Any campers at gas city?
|
Didn't make it so just heading there
|
The nice gentleman at the gate threw my blanket at me and told me to get the F out.
I guess they don't want us here? Side note...there were already 20 blankets in the flooded out line...he said he was throwing them out... |

Btw..the man who has the unpleasant job to enforce the rules is quite witty and a nice guy. |

I am looking forward to walking through the gates at Kokomo, heading straight to the concession stand, and grabbing a pork chop sandwich, Coke and M&Ms for desert.

Re: Head to Kokomo
Dont blame Kim for doing his job...He is a nice guy,,,what I wish is the promoters get a clue...Kokomo was decent but in the last year their shows have come to a halt...cant get out before 11:00 anylonger? Logansport had 66 cars two classes and could not start feature untill midnight a couple of weeks ago. And Bearfeild has had 7 classes twice in the last month...no one is left to see any of the features... These guys are competing for our entertainment $$ and if features start after people leave due to the hour,,,what good are they doing-not making new fans...I will admit Kokomo did get us out at 10:30 last week but there was only 19 sprint and 6 or 7 hornuts..

I have seen a person with baby formula turned away at the gate.is this a way you want to run a professional organization.come on.

Well per usual, we have to find something to complain about since the racing at Kokomo never disappoints. However, if our biggest worry heading to the track is a man being slightly impolite in asking us to throw our drinks away and spending a couple extra bucks to get a drink in the track, then I think we have ourselves a pretty nice situation with Kokomo Speedway.
Here's a wild solution. We've seen complaints over long redraws and not being able to bring in drinks. Well, a long redraw offers time to head back to the car and down a beer or Coke, right? I'll go ahead and predict the further complaining of having to walk to the car. Hopefully everyone can conquer their extreme worries of being told to throw away their drinks, look at my username, and then do what my username says. If you do, hopefully I can see you there. Been fortunate enough to speak with plenty of you on here but not had the pleasure of meeting many in person. I'll be the younger guy with a black Boespflug hat, and I also bet I'll be the only one drinking some craft beer with a Zombie on the bottle label unless flagboy is there lol. See you all there. |
Re: Head to Kokomo
My wife and I enjoyed Midget week which had 25+cars in both midget class and in the sprint class, we were out of there by 9:20.
As far as taking in food and drink I have no problem with that because their concessions are delicious and reasonably priced. Working security at a race track is a tough job with some people wanting everything their way. And last but not least find a cleaner better run track and go there, as for me I will be GYATK today. |
Yeah, made my 5 year old drink or throw out his half bottle of water. Whatever.

Re: Head to Kokomo
waited all winter for summer waited this summer for sprint week and now ya all want to complain about rules that have been there forever and miss four wide, wide open into turn one. whats it take to make some people happy?

Re: Head to Kokomo
I've got a suggestion. Instead of complaining on this forum about existing policy and so forth why don't 20 or so of you get together early before the race and see if you could set up a meeting with one of the O'Connors and discuss your issues face to face. I will let you know that I don't agree with the no food or drink policy myself but I am not going to let one thing or one person ruin my day at the races. And to me Kokomo is the best track in Indiana and maybe in the entire country for close, side by side racing and that is the biggest reason I come to Kokomo. No track is perfect but reasonable face to face civil conversation can go a longer way than gripping on IOW. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face and I totally agree with goat above. Put the small stuff behind and enjoy the gem you all have here in the Hoosier state and enjoy a great night of sprint car racing at Kokomo.

Yes it didn't take long to meet the gate keeper at Kokomo
|
Ok,rules are rules. The purpose of the rule is not clear.IF the rule is indeed about supporting the track, then why are people allowed to go back out to their vehicles to drink and eat all they want? Then return to their seats.Make those people stay in the gates once they've entered.Bet there'd be a lot different opinions.I see not wanting people to pack in coolers and bags full of refreshments but someone, especially kids, carrying a restaurant cup in seems pretty acceptable.Besides, anyone that's taken kids to an event knows you WILL be at the concession stand before the nights over.Lol.

Re: Head to Kokomo
The same guy who I asked at ISW if I could leave my walker by the flag stand , I was told no leave it here (by the entrance gate) I just looked at him and told him that if I could walk that far I wouldn"t need the dam walker :7:
