Posted up in 2 drinking beer. Track isnt ideal by any means but it's racing.

flagboy55 6/10/17 8:16 PM

Apparently our soggy spring has some tracks a little scared of using the water truck

Wingman 6/10/17 8:18 PM

Grant on his lid. Soft roll. OK. Sprint heat 3.

oppweld 6/10/17 8:22 PM

I don't think I've ever seen an ideal track here but have almost always a great race!

How many sprinters tonight?

Dirtfan 6/10/17 10:37 PM

20

wildman92 6/10/17 11:16 PM

KT won over Darland and Leary

racinrich 6/10/17 11:45 PM

What would you have done to make the racing results better? If this was a persons first trip to the track they will probably be disappointed the next time.

Re: Burg

Keep whining about condtions you weren't there to see. I was there at 4pm and the water truck was sinking four inches in the track. A 90 degree cloudless day and 30mph constant wind dried it out He watered it before heats and before feature and you couldn't ask for better racing in the midgets. KT kinda ran away in the sprint feature but Dave was fast in the 40 to finish second.

I guess when the fans cheered Rico winning and gave Holly Shelton a standing ovation. THey should just quit racing. It just doesn't get any better than that. Three story sliders and she crossed em over and passed em back at least ten times.
That was the kinda track that made eldora famous and what eldora isn't anymore. Cajone's out, right on the foot tall cushing a foot off the wall and hold your breath sliders for passes.

The turn two crowd. the wind was blowing straight at ya. As I said in the WoO thread. I wish them stands were built down the back straight. But at least we have em.

Congrats Rico.
YAY HOLLY!

Not sure who your implication is directed too, but your right about one thing, Eldora ain't when it used to be. I will forever love the place, Chuck you hit the nail. Sounds like a great show at the Burg!

Re: Burg

The midget feature was very good

Nate 6/11/17 2:25 AM

As I said before, track wasn't ideal but with the weather the way it was today, I'll take what the Burg gave me.

The midget feature was great, Rico put on a show all by himself.

Sprint feature at the end wasn't too close at the time they took the checkers but still had some great racing before that.

All and all, good afternoon/night of racing

Re: Burg

I didn't have a problem with what you said Nate.

It's the people not there that stick in the comment about not watering or something. Makes it sound like everyone must have had a bad time.

It wasn't the closest racing of the week. That was probably Gas City. Wasn't he best or worst track of the week and still have Kokomo to go.

They're all different and I like the racing they all give. and my favorite track isn't even on the cars. (Terre Haute)

Re: Burg

I wasn't there. But watching the highlights ,you couldn't ask for much more.Reminded me of the sliders at Jacksonville the week before.

Wingman 6/11/17 10:59 AM

Admittedly don't follow midgets as much as sprints. I have never heard of Holly Shelton before this week. I know who she is now after her performance last night. She was driving it like she stole it!

Re: Burg

Not at the line but there were at least 24 clear lead changes in 30 laps :)

DHayes818 6/11/17 4:28 PM

I'll probably start a shizit storm with this...seems like DD could have easily pulled off with the flat tire instead of rolling to a stop and bringing out the yellow. Disappointing.

Otherwise, great night of racing and great decisions regarding track prep.

Re: Burg

You're absolutely right Charles, water was poured on and the track was fast. We got there at 5:00.Took the girlfriend for the first time, she's 69 years old, and we sat at the top of the grandstands in turn two and we got plastered but she loved the race and will go back. Only complaint I had was the speakers weren't clear there and we couldn't make out what was said during the victory celebration.
One of the best midget race I've been to.

Re: Burg

I was there Charles was right on. Hated to see Bayston go to the tail with a cut left tire not sure Rico could have beat him. Holy was tough as nails.
