Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
earlier in the year, i told myself i wouldnt miss a terre haute race this yr. but i must take that back, i will be at the burg. i love midget racing, but i must make a choice as a few thousand people this weekend will also find hard to make. most of the racers i want to watch will be there but the midget aces will b missed. i would love for the hut hundred to be ran sunday or sunday night, then everyone would be happy. but i do like the fact that some of the best funded teams will be at terre haute with their midgets, because it will give the mscs crowd more of the credit they are do. and a chance at some more big money. i dont mind the schedule conflicts like this one some times also, and wonder if its just a coincidence or if santioning bodies do it to keep certain teams away from their larger events so that the drivers and teams that support them weekly get the benefits from going to every event. unfortunately the bottom line is that the best drivers in the midwest will be split between three different tracks this weekend. hope someones taking video at all 3. heres something to ponder also, when is the rain date fo each of these races and do they conflict?

Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
What happened to this thread being about going TO TERRE HAUTE. LEave the burg out of this. The Burg will have a class group of cars, as will The Hut. All this will do is start a big argument as to who is going where, and what.
Thanks :) |

Of course I'll be there! In my bright red fire suit and ATV. Nothing like watching the midgets from just inside the guardrail. As always, I hope no driver will need the safety crew's services. Might get real interesting with J.J. Yaley & Jason Leffler both returning to the track for the first time in several years.

Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
Where I REALLY want to be: THAT
Where I might be: 'burg Where I'll likely end up being: Home, doing stuff that I don't want to do. |
Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
If you only knew what DHK went thru to even get a schedule together for Terre Haute the racing conflicts would be understood. Mr. Allison chose to drag his fat feet in releasing the fair board from his contract so DHK could be signed on. Feburary/March is not the best time to get a schedule together when all the other tracks are already in the books. If you want to find the root cause for the schedule conflicts, thank Mr. Allison for the Action Track's part in it.

one more little item to sway some fans might be that it will be a HARF event and if you are a HARF member you get a $3 discount at the box office, i know $3 isn't huge, but THAT gave us discounts at every event this year and we really appreciate it.

Chris,
It looks like I will be in attendance at Terre Haute this weekend. My plans fell through for Lawrenceburg and Terre Haute only being 1 hr 20 minutes from my front door I cannot pass it up. Lawrenceburg is almost 4 hours away. I will just have to visit the Burg next year. I cannot wait to see this race as it is the 1st race I attended at Terre Haute. My dad used to drag race there a few years back. See you all Saturday! Jason Watt |
Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
I will be there.

Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
Since I can get to the Action Track from my house in Terre Haute, without seeing one stop light, I will make the 3 hr cruise to the "Burg".
Congrats to Kyle Cummins, your 2007 and 2008 MSCS Champion!! |
Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
I was just reading an artical on Hoseheads web site and it states that leffler will be at Silver dollar speedway in Ca. for the Fall Nationals this weekend.
Swindell, Leffler, Stewart and Sather Enter Fall Nationals by: Troy Hennig (Chico, CA 9-28.08)...Out of town drivers will be plentiful this weekend at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. All are in search of the $6,000 Saturday night main event win during the 17th Annual Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals. Always thought of as one of the best hidden treasures in the sprint car world, the Fall Nationals will attract over 80 cars from all parts of the United States. This year 23-year old Fargo, North Dakota female driver Natalie Sather is ready to take on the high banks of Chico. In 2007 Sather became the first woman to win a major ASCS trophy when she won the Midwest Points Championship. Joining Sather will be Germantown, TN sprint car icon Sammy Swindell. Late in the year Swindell teamed up with local car owner Tom Rolfe and together the two have made a nice combination. NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Jason Leffler will return to the Fall Nationals after missing last season. Bixby, OK driver Shane Stewart is also slated to race. Stewart will try to avenge for last years heart breaking loss on the final lap. Stewart is once again teamed with Paul Silva and the Doyle's Harley Davidson #1. Anyone know whats up with that? First Yeley now Leffler, if the Leffler info is correct one must wonder how much truth there actually was to either of them running the Hut 100 in the first place. |
Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
I'm betting on Yeley and Leffler being in Terre Haute since both drivers have been quoted multiple times in local papers about being there on Saturday. The most recent quotes actually ran in Friday's Tribune Star. Should be interesting to see whose blowing smoke or getting lied to about the drivers coming to a certain track.

Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
an update on the tunnel.
As of 1pm when I left, there standing water about an inch deep in not many places. You could walk through the tunnel without stepping in water. Pumps will be going throughout the race so it will stay dry. At one point we had a pump problem, the big pump stopped and the tunnel had almost 4 inches of water in it, but then we got the pump going again and it was dry in under an hour. |
Re: Roll Call: THAT Oct. 4th
