dshort36 6/7/17 10:45 PM

Rough track as usual I'll take mt pelier slick over this crap anytime. To many cars tore up tonight

reeserx 6/7/17 10:49 PM

l yeah I'd say it was pretty rough but man what a race! They went 5 wide at times, rico and thorson were neck and neck for a long time. I gotta get up at 4am, that race was worth the loss of sleep and dragging ass tomorrow lol!

ZooMouth 6/8/17 12:02 AM

Ya... we tore some stuff up tonight, but the entertainment level tonight vs. last night is immeasurable! Take care the next three nights.... I'll see everyone in Kokomo!

Read somewhere someone saying best Gas City race ever, didn't specify the sprint or midget race. Any thoughts?

Rich Mersereau 6/8/17 7:57 AM

Both features were very good. The midget feature looked like an outdoor Chilli Bowl (full combat) Rico, Larson, Brady, Tanner all could have won, then here comes Pickens from the other side of the world and wins. If you weren't there you missed an instant classic. Kevin Thomas passed Brady in turn 4 to win the sprinrs, doesn't get any better.

david mitchell 6/8/17 8:03 AM

Midget race was very good.great to see Michael get his first usac win.i don,t think it was the best race ever.that is very subjective.i left after the midget race so I don,t know about the sprint car feature.can someone enlighten us.very well run event.midget feature over at 10:45.71 cars.congrats to O'Connors on a well run event.

Ended about the same time as Tues show. Should they get their show taken too?

I watched online on Speedshift.tv , Fantastic racing in both

I thought it was a good show. Both features were really good. I compliment them on not running anything but sprints and midgets, and only charging $20. I thought it was a good show.

Great features in both divisions.
Track WAS a bit rough, but it made things interesting. I really am surprised more equipment didn't get torn up.

Was expecting much worse track/facility conditions with things sitting idle. The lack of a working PA system on the front stretch was slightly disappointing.

When did they change the policy on bringing in a beverage? Got stopped at the gate for having an iced tea.

When the o'conners took over is when the policy changed

Was this his first USAC win? I thought they said in victory lane last night that it was his 2nd career midget week win. Maybe I misheard.

It has to be at least his second USAC win and maybe his 2nd during Midget Week. I remember him winning at Kokomo before.

That was Picken's third career USAC midget victory.

I remember Pickens leading with one or two to go at Burg a few years ago and detonated down the front stretch leaving Daum to win. But im sure that wasn't his first.

It's a honor to see him race up here, he does when he can. I didn't see Quinn on the card last night but he was at Montpelier. He can wind it up from time to time too.

Yes, Gas City was Pickens third USAC National Midget win and his second Indiana Midget Week win.

Previously, Pickens had USAC wins at Angell Park in 2007 and Kokomo in 2011.

Quinn tagged the front stretch wall in the Main at Montpelier and brought out a red; it still looked reasonably straight and they pushed back to the pits but it was dragging the front Panhard bar. Must have had more damage that kept them from getting to Gas City...

Andrew S. Quinn 6/8/17 1:39 PM

"Cousin" Jimi Quin spells his last name with one "n" in it. Guess that would make him a first cousin.....:D

Oops, should have double-checked; I knew he spells Jimi with an "I' like Hendrix did.
apologies to Quinns/Quins Up Over and Down Under...

Montpelier, midgets ended at 10:45. NW was done at approximately at 11:15. We left. Mods were running at 11:25 when we exited the property. So pretty much same times between Montpelier & Gas City.
