WoO at Tri State

I'm coming up for the WoO show Saturday at TSS, it's probably been 8 years since I seen the WoO there but I know it will be an epic race winged or non winged here. Anyone heard of any guys strapping the wing on the run with these guys? Maybe Carson Short, Chase Stocken? Thanks guys, fingers crossed for good weather!!!

Nate 4/23/17 9:46 PM

Haulinmail 4/26/17 7:42 AM

I heard 3C strapping a wing on this Saturday!

If Mother Nature holds out, I would love to see somebody put Daron Clayton in a ride. He was very good in a winged car, and we all know how good he is a TSS!

Dan, I don't ever recall one. Not saying I didn't attend them, just don't recall any. Ron Miller is the one who will know this!

Wow! So I am the official know it all, eh?! I checked my records and here is what I found: In 1975 Thrust Industries sponsored the Thrust Twin 100s. On Sept. 5th, qualifying for the stock cars took place, while the 100 lap feature took place on the next night, Sept. 6th. On the next weekend, the sprint cars qualified on Sept. 12th, and the 100 lap feature took place the next night on Sept. 13th. I had the same thought that Dan had about back to back nights, and I vaguely remembered it happening in the distant past. So, we did have back to back nights on back to back weekends in Sept. 1975. We sure lucked out back then to get four consecutive dry weekend nights.

Ron,
All I know was that if anyone in the world knew, it would be you. Very cool history lesson.

Thanks again Ron!

Ron Would you happen to have wrote down who won these features? I do remember a sprint hit the guardrail down between 3 and 4 and burst into flames, the car coasted to the infield where the One Armed Bandit Chuck Amati was pitted . The driver was trying to get out but was having trouble so Chuck threw a bear hug on the guy and got him out of the car. The driver and Chuck both went to the hospital for minor burns and Chuck for being sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher. I had forgotten about these races till you wrote about them, was going to blame it on having my stroke, but we all know its me being old lol :D

No, I didn't. Was the sprint car driver in the fire one of the Linders, Fred or Gus? I know they had a huge field of cars for both races.

Re: WoO at Tri State

Ron I'm not sure who it was but yes they had a ton of cars at both races :8:
