ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

I know this really isn't a big deal but it drives me crazy to see 10 or 12 threads regarding ASCS sprint cars on the 1st page of IOW. Has there ever even been an ascs race in Indiana!!! Rant over

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

To answer your question the ASCS National Tour has one race scheduled in 2017 at Shadyhill Speedway - Medaryville, IN on 7/21/17. Last year they had a show scheduled at Plymouth, IN and Brownstown, IN that both got rained out.

TCR57 4/12/17 7:59 AM

ASCS is scheduled at Plymouth in July this year as well.

Somebody cares because they are getting views. If it's not your thing just skip over them.

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

They should have to specify in title whether they are a "wing" or "non-wing" organization, so new guys like me don't wander into the wrong thread and inadvertently give them views.

Your post say you care more than most haha
How hard would it have been to skip right by?
Do you really like racing or are you just lying to yourself?
Any and all promotion of the sport is great! Why do you want them to stop promoting the sport? Guarantied there are people on here that would know nothing to little about ASCS and its drivers across the country, and if a handful at time read the articles its worth it.
ITS MARKETING which is a must in motorsports and any sport or business adventure, if you want to be in business in the future.
Sorry but not rocket science here at all

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

I think if it was one post per race preview story & one post per race results/story then it wouldn't be too bad. But I'm even from Arkansas & all those ASCS driver posts are annoying especially when they do them for a driver like Derek Hagar which isn't even a full time ASCS driver, JMO

k41l 4/12/17 9:23 AM

I love racing Jsr7s! Indiana racing preferably of the non wing variety although I do attend some wing races and enjoy them as well. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go read some ascs driver profiles now instead of passing over them. Maybe that great marketing will convince me to road trip to Texas to watch Joe Blow charge from 16th to 14th. LOL

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

I somewhat agree with the poster. But not so much just because it's ASCS, But how they do it. They release about ten press releases at a time and you log into IOW and the whole page is taken up and you have to search for recent or relevant to Indiana threads

IDK why it seems to cover every ASCS series as well as most just keep track of national .

If USAC did the same it would be a pain, But luckily we get the big three Midgets, Sprints and Champ and they are national, If they released a press release that showed up here for every series they sanction.. It would make ASCS seem tame.

Sometimes less is more.

ASCS, WoO, ASCoC, GLSS, NRA, SOD, MOWA, USCS - Wing

USAC, WAR, MSCS, BOSS, MTS - Non-wing

Now you don't have to be confused.

Bill May 4/12/17 2:35 PM

I refer you to post 614 my Mrs. G back on 3-2-17 for a very simple explanation.

miledirt 4/12/17 5:22 PM

It is a lot of posts...

Seems like there could be one "ASCS News Update" with a date on it or something

But like others have said, not too big a deal to just scroll down

I agree, post the ASCS crap on Hoseheads. Annoying seeing all the press releases each week.

If u wanna see what happens to a cool site that no one posts on anymore; go to Midgetmadness.com...or go to FB & u will see everything in the world u don't want to or need to see...enjoy what we have & skip over what doesn't interest u...

BrentTFunk 4/12/17 6:28 PM

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

My main thing is not only do they do releases of the series, there are also several indivdual drivers that get a release for every event. Nothing against it , but it does seem a little overkill.

I hate seeing all the asca or whatever it is posts too. It is what it is, this obviously isn't a open wheeled nonwing site like advertised. What I hate is the dimwits that challenge my love of racing because I hate winged cars. I hate winged cars because I love racing.

Wings aren't what brought me here, thought it was the haven for non-wing.

For what it's worth... I moved from Indiana to Texas last year and was at first not willing to buy into the ACSC stuff, especially since it is wing. But after going to a couple of shows, man these guys race hard. Worth giving it a shot if you have never been to one before bashing it.

I don't think it's a question of bashing, 99% of the people who come to this board, come for non-wing sprint cars because that what we like, its what we want. I'm sure ASCS racers do race hard, that's not in question, we just know what we like and that winged anything isn't our particular flavor of vodka. This isn't, "Sprint car Nation", its non-wing Indiana sprint cars, period. No offense intended, that's just how it is.:D

Agree with poster. It's annoying and if this site is going to sell out to winged sprint cars then someone else should start a new site we can go to.

The 2017 is a pinned post that stays on the front page in its spot. It's not supposed to move anywhere. The ASCS posts are automatic from ASCS just like when usac puts out a press release, it'll automatically post here. This is Indiana open wheel but a lot of people from different states use this site to find races and other information. I for one, am just glad we have this site regardless. Thanks MRS. G for all you do for this site

Hell guys. We were down in Ocala this year for the usac show and when they rained out on Thursday night . We took a 2 hours road trip to watch the ascs and got to see some great racing events. 60 car's in the house and had a great time. Have a great weekend guys and thanks for all the great things that bill and his family have done for us racing fans. Simply the best. Thanks mrs g. For allowing us to live his dream. Thanks.

Re: ASCS WHO Cares!!!!!!

You guys do understand that when PR's are sent out and a forum like IOW receives that message, it is auto-posted right? ASCS isn't actually coming here to IOW each and every time and manually posting their releases. When it gets to IOW it's just a small piece of their marketing blitz that gets sent out to hundreds of outlets with one click.

Personally I never read press releases. I'd much rather just have a list of the results and be done instead of sifting through who done what.

ASCS has done a great job of marketing their talent. Something a lot of series/sanctions could take a lesson from instead of just getting races scheduled.

What are you talking about? Mrs. G doesn't make any money when racing sanctioning org's news releases get automatically posted on the board. But you're right about the other part. You should leave IOW immediately, take a day or two to just throw together a message board that is better than this one and come back and let us know when you're done, so we can all leave here and migrate to your better forum.:5:

Jerry, he did say "someone else" should do it. Whiners always want "someone else" to fix it.

By the way, how's that non-winged 305 series you said you were going to start coming along?
