Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
Man did he put a show on tonight, but the ol' engine couldn't take it no longer but what a show!!!

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
Yeah he was on a mission. Nobody else could run the line Daron was running. Would of liked to seen him pull it out with all the bad luck he has had this year.
Hopefully I will see him next week @ the Burg! Jason Watt |

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
He did everything right tonight but the engine just couldn't take it. I don't think he hit the wall all night!! Tough break for DC but he is still lots of fun to watch!!
I hope he is at L'burg too. |
Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
I wished i live alittle closer to the sprint car tracks, i live in western Ky and only track i only gor in Indiana is Haubstadt, and it is close to 2 hours away, but if he is exciting like that at every track it would be worth coming to L'burg next weekend, but the line he was running last night i have never seen run but he had her hollaring!!!

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
I didn't even see any certain line Cowboy ran! What I notice was, he went where ever, whenever, and however he wanted! Very few tracks have a racing surface like Haubstadt , no matter where you start in the feature, the best drivers can make their way to the front. Yes, watching Clayton race is worth the price of admission alone!

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
:greenflag:I think DC is great to watch. He is always exciting. One thing I noticed when he was qualifying at J-ville, he used a little different technique than everyone else. He got out of the gas quicker than anyone on the straight, but he also picked it up by the time he was set up going into the turn. I think by doing this, he grabs a little bit of moisture that no one else is using, and it lets him carry a lot of speed through the turn. I was sitting with a guy that didn't know much about him. By the end of the night, he was a big fan.

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
J. D. is right on the money. The man I was sitting next to at Haubstadt said he had not seen anyone else run so many different places. Seeing DC sweeping around turns 1&2 with that left front hiked toward the sky is simply a thing of beauty. Grace and guts. I certainly hope he has better luck for a good long while.

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
Was I the only one to notice it last nite? DC had both front wheels off the ground in turns 1&2 it was simply a beautiful thing to witness a car that hooked up. The MDC needs deserves to have luck go the other way for him. I truly hope he gets her back together for saturdays show at the Burg it should be a classic.

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
It certainly was great to see him back in the 92 and as usual he did not disappoint.
He said he'll be at L'Burg next Sat. guys. Kick some ass DC! |
Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
That 92 car is something special. He was running a line that nobody else was using and his car was really turning well in the corner and letting him get off the corner better than anyone alse all night. He had the field covered but the motor let him down.
I will gladly pay $20 just to see him race. He is the most exciting driver to watch. I look forward to seeing him at L'burg next Sat. Go DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I so looked forward to seeing Clayton @ Calistoga over the Labor Day weekend. He had a good ride, Crossno #83, but they had engine problems the whole weekend. Again I am looking forward to seeing this young man @ the PAS for the Oval Nationals. Hope he makes it out. :Steer

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
Daron rocks was glad to see him back to his old self in the black and yell 92. The only thing that would of been better was to if we could of seen some xgames style 360 donuts after he won. Go get em daron

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
I had been talking D.C. at Haubstadt up for almost 2 years to my racing buddies. Since its a 4 hour drive they had never come with me until this weekend. Boy did he not disappoint!! Watching Daron at Haubstadt is one of the most electric things in sprint car racing. I don't know if its the tightness of the track or what, but it suits him better than any of the other 7 or 8 tracks I have seen him on. Its hard to not watch just him although there is usually great racing all over the track. Just hope the COWBOY has a new bullet for this week-end.

Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
DC is always fun to watch anywhere but he is at his absolute best at Haubstadt. Daron and Tri-State just seem to be a good fit. His first 10 laps in the A-main in the first $10,000 to win haubstadt race this year were the the best I have ever seen. I have never seen anyone drive that hard!
We have been fans for several years but it seems like he picks up new fans every race. Every race we go to our son always asks if Daron Clayton will be there. Sam is Daron biggest fan. |
Re: Is Daron Clayton fun to watch?
I enjoy watching him,but I also like is attitude towards the fans. I saw him after Tri-state. And even after what happen he still stuck around and talk to his fans.

I like to watch DC, but anymore he don't last long enough to watch. Motor, broke suspension or crash.
